MICHAEL GILLUM (TRAINER)
In December of 2010 Michael received a Queens Commission, and was indoctrinated into the Royal New Zealand Army Logistics Regiment (RNZALR) as a Second Lieutenant.
In January 2011 Michael discovered CrossFit. He became extremely passionate and began to compete competitively. In 2018 Michael qualified with his team, to compete at the CrossFit Games held in Madison, Wisconsin of the USA, placing 17th overall.
Michael is qualified as - Level One and Level Two CrossFit Trainer, CrossFit Strongman, Level Two Sports Power Coach, CrossFit Kids, and Comprehensive First Aid, as well as possessing a Diploma in Accounting. These courses have given Michael a valuable base of knowledge and insight into coaching and training techniques. Michael is planning to complete the Sports Power coach Lvl 3 in 2020.
NICOLE ANDERSON (GENERAL MANAGER)
In 2008 Nicole began her career at FRDC Palmerston North and since graduated from Massey University with her bachelor of science major in microbiology, previously also having NDS.
She began her love of sporting activities in 2011, where she became members of numerous social sporting groups, including rugby, soccer, indoor netball, squash, running, and weight lifting. It wasn’t until 2015 when her partner introduced her to CrossFit, when she began an overarching passion for CrossFit in general. In 2017 she then completed her CrossFit level 1 course and in 2019 her technical officials course.
Nicole particularly loves the value and day to day benefits CrossFit provides her; improving her sporting capabilities, strength, a stress release and also enabling her to keep up with her three children and manage a team at work.
ALYSSA GILLUM (TRAINER)
Alyssa is currently a full-time mum who enjoys training in all areas of CrossFit. She is passionate about teaching others and conveys strengths in knowledge towards endurance training, gymnastics and nutrition.
Alyssa graduated from a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise in 2010 and in 2011, she went on to complete the Graduate Diploma of Teaching. During this time, Alyssa gained work experience as a swimming coach and an aqua aerobics instructor. She was a also a very keen runner growing up.
In 2010, Alyssa completed her first Marathon, The Great Wall Marathon in Beijing, China. She is proud of her performance against the world’s best. Since then, Alyssa has completed two ultra marathons, multiple marathons, mountain and trail running events, multiple half marathons, triathlons and many 10km and 5km running events throughout New Zealand.
ZEAK KELLY (TRAINER)
Zeak is passionate about improving the lives of others through physical exercise. He loves to help people push through their limitations and perceived boundaries to build confidence both inside the gym and in their every day lives.
With over five years experience as a CrossFit coach throughout New Zealand and Australia, Zeak has developed a thorough knowledge of the CrossFit methodology and enjoys working with people from all backgrounds. Zeak has a thirst for self-improvement and continuously seeks to develop himself in all areas .
